We are recruiting a FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT for a prestigious 2nd level school in the Dublin 2 area.
This is one of the largest private schools in Ireland. The school is renowned for the excellence and range of courses it provides to students.
The Financial Accountant will report directly into the Head of Finance.
Financial reporting
* Financial Reporting/Financial Modelling for departmental reporting.
* Responsible for the month-end process preparation of the management accounts.
* Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Overseeing the account payable and receivable process.
* Supplier payments
* Involvement in year-end Audits
* Perform relevant reconciliations to and within the General Ledger and participate in all Balance Sheet Reviews
* Participate in the preparation and organisation of audit schedules for annual and internal audits.
* Involvement in period end close activities and accounts preparation including P&L and Balance Sheet
* Responsibility for reconciling and reporting key costs in the P&L and business streams and quarterly reviews with budget holders on same.
* Involvement in annual budget process.
* Involvement in the preparation of Statutory Accounts and consulting with external auditors.
* Other ad hoc duties assigned by the Head of Finance
* VAT
Project management
* Analysis of specific projects / business stream outcomes within the school.
* Ongoing Business Project Assessment and coordination (New MIS system).
* Involvement in Data migration process from the current bespoke MIS system to the new MIS system.
* Seconded to other departments to implement and develop transformational projects within IOE.
Key requirements:
* Relevant third level degree (2.1 minimum) in accounting, finance, business or related field
* Professional accountancy qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA, PT Qualified considered
* 3 years min recent relevant experience within a similar role.
* Excellent attention to detail is required.
* Experience using the Sage system is desirable.
* Fluency in a second language would be beneficial.
* Strong IT skills and proficient across the MS Office Suite particularly in Excel.
* Strong interpersonal skills and good communicator organised with good attention to detail.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
* A commitment and focus on customer service.
* Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional environment.
* Experience using Sage 200 is preferable.
* Hours are 9am-5pm Monday -Friday. Hours can be on site or min 3 days in the office and 2 wfh.
Salary c €55-60k, benefits include 23 days holidays, EAP assistance, subsidised canteen, death in service
