We are recruiting a full time Accounts & Administration Assistant to work with an order based in Co Derry.

The Accounts & Administrative Assistant should be highly organised, hardworking and self motivated in order to assist in the smooth running of a center.

You will work with the Prior and the Bursar (Dublin) with minimal supervision. You will need to demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills.

You will be comfortable with general office operations, including email, filing and various adhoc duties as required.

You should be proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Good people and communication skills are required.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication and cooperation with the Provincial Bursars Office and Governance Manager regarding charity governance compliance matters.
  • Take ownership for progressing any matters of governance and compliance in the community as advised by the Provincial Bursars Office team in Dublin.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Financial Policy of the order and devise and ensure processes in the community are in line with the policies.
  • Prepare HR quarterly reports to the Trustees.
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Collect all invoices and ensuring they are approved and signed as authorised for payment.
  • Enter all receipts and payments into Sage Accounting
  • Act as teh main point of contact with the NI Auditors
  • Assist with year end audit preparations
  • Manage HR records locally and work with Governance Manager to arrange the appropriate training for staff.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the staff handbook policies and procedures and advise Prior of same as required.
  • Manage the Volunteer compliance and process required documentation.
  • Arrange staff and volunteer training.
  • Bank lodgements
  • Weekly cash count

Requirements:

  • Ideally Pt Qualified or IATI
  • Previous experience working on Sage would be an advantage.
  • Min 4 -5 years similar accounting experience is required
  • Experience working in the charity , non profit sector would be beneficial
  • Sal: neg, £30-32k
